Practiva Health recognizes the need to quantify its impact as a prevention company.
Since 1999, Practiva health has developed a straightforward methodology to determine the effect it can have on behavior change and ultimately, medical costs.
Our outcome studies are focused on three concerns:
  1. Are employee health behaviors changed?
  2. Is employee health status improved?
  3. Does improved health status impact medical costs?

Comparing year-over-year assessment data has shown increased activity patterns, improved nutritional habits and self-perceived health status and, over time, a reduction in percent of preventable and modifiable health care costs.
  • A 5-year longitudinal study showed a $3.80 savings for every dollar invested in our targeted wellness program.
  • Health coaching resulted in statistically significant reductions in cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • People engaging in a prevention program reported to be significantly more active and eating healthier.
  • Obese people, engaging with a health coach, showed a significant reduction in BMI-level.
  • Employees, working with health coaches, rated the program helpful 90% of the time.
  • Incentives correlated highly with program participation.

Dear Lauren,
I am writing to you to let you know just what you have done for me. I was thinking today about how my life has changed in the past 5 months. When I started with Practiva about 4 months ago, I thought at 65 years old, having a business to run and my stress level at an all time high—it would not work for me. BOY WAS I WRONG!! Though your encouragement, training and a lot of personal reflection, my life IS changing for the good. I have realized that I am the only person who is responsible for me! I decided that I wasn’t going to let anyone or anything interfere with this gift I am giving to myself—a healthier me!. My endurance has improved, I feel better, I’m losing inches and last but not least I have lost 26 lbs. eating more than I ever did before. I look forward to seeing you at workouts because you make it fun –even if we are just talking, I seem to walk further without thinking about ! I have to also give Alicia so much credit for guiding me on my “new lifestyle” . Without her guidance on my new way of eating (not a diet), finding me recipes, never getting upset if maybe I wasn’t perfect that week and showing me things to help control my stress level and celebrating all my success-it would have been extremely difficult for me.
